Medical Advocacy
As registered nurses with a background in surgical nursing, we saw that people didn't really understand what their conditions were and couldn't articulate what procedures they were having done--right up to their actual surgeries. This and the fact that navigating our healthcare system is very confusing. Did you know that there are 12 million misdiagnosis every year and that the third leading cause of preventable death, in this country, is related to medical error? We want to change this!
We assist individuals and families successfully navigate the healthcare system. We offer peace of mind during oftentimes stressful circumstances because we know the medical system. We know how to ask the right questions of healthcare providers and we know that if you understand what is happening, you will make the best decisions for your health. We save you time by helping you coordinate your care in the most efficient manner possible and we save you money that you might otherwise have spent trying to navigate our complex medical system. We attend doctor’s appointments, stay at your side while in the hospital, or travel the continuum of care if you are having a surgery.
Combined we have more than 40 years of experience as operating room nurses, our passion is advocating for patients. In our experience in the operating room, successful surgery is always a result of a collaborative team approach and we believe this ins one of the most critical factors inhaling people achieve the best results when it comes to their health. We are passionate about teamwork. Connected Care was built on this concept of teamwork, which is why we are a group practice not just solo RN patient advocates. We collaborate with our clients as a team because two, three, or four heads are better than one. We have each come to be an RN patient advocate through different personal experiences and the need we saw for the patients to have someone in their corner, to be their safety net, while navigating their healthcare.
