A Walk to End Slavery - Candlelight Vigil

Please join us on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.   Our multi-club committee has participated in the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade for several years and we have walked from from 82nd and Holgate to Stark (1.9 miles).

This year we are walking on Jan. 11th at 6 p.m. from 82nd and Glisan to Sandy Blvd.  82nd Avenue has been and still is known for Trafficking activities.

Our goal is to have a large group of individuals (Rotarians, friends and family) walking to raise awareness of this issue and acknowledge that victims of trafficking cannot make the choice to stay in and be warm.

Last year we did a Candlelight Vigil and Flash Mob in Pioneer Square.  We will use those battery operated candles for the walk on Jan. 11th.   This is an important opportunity to show Rotary cares.  A Press Release will be made.

All Rotarians, friends, and family members are welcome to participate. The East Precinct Sex Trafficking Unit will also be joining us as we kick off the walk at the Montavilla Community Center.

Please join us for a couple hours and wear warm clothing and rain gear.
