Kenya Keys

Kenya Keys bridges two cultures - acting as a catalyst for educational achievement and leadership development - unlocking the potential of nearly 1000 students over the past 15 years. Our work is guided by these beliefs: Education is the most important tool we can use against poverty. Volunteerism is crucial to a vital, dynamic organization fostering global citizenship. Cultural exchange and exposure is vitally enriching for Americans and Africans. There should be no giving that increases dependency, invites discontent, and isolates the givers from the receivers. We provide opportunities, not handouts. All essential decisions should be made by local leadership and teams, giving the community crucial ownership, accountability, and leadership experience. We believe all people have the ability within themselves to solve their greatest challenges.  We thank you for supporting our vision of empowering students and changing lives through education!

This presentation will highlight the students, programs, and projects of Kenya Keys to help the East Portland Rotary awareness of the organization’s they have supported for several years.  We also will share the current and future vision and goals of the organization and then address questions for the group.
